Beyond day service: the blueSCI transformational change service model. A half day Introduction visit
Cost per organisation 200 pounds (max 4 people per organisation)
Aim of the Session:
To provide an opportunity for commissioners and service providers/managers to consider how you take a person centred approach to meeting the needs of your local population.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the session you will have and understanding of the blueSCI model of transformational change and its application in practice.
Content:
1: The challenge of modernisation.
How blueSCI moved from a traditional day service model, having inherited a traditional day service which over a period of twelve months was transformed into a recognised exemplar service.
2: The current model for delivering transformational change.
An overview of the model which was identified through a three year independent “invest-to-save” Treasury funded research project.
3: Barriers faced and overcome
Managing the challenges that ‘change’ presents when redesigning a service, including the challenge of providing an ‘inclusive’ service in the true sense of the word.
4: Outcomes and quality assurance measures.
A sharing of our experience and continuing reassessment of managing the tension between putting person centred recovery values into practice and having to provide outcomes to meet the required DoH targets for statutory services. For this reason it has been necessary to translate our recovery philosophy into components that can be more readily measured promoting person centred recovery outcomes.
