Shaw Trust is a national charity that supports over 75,000 clients annually and would like to help people who attend blueSCI and are looking for work.
Shaw Trust help people to prepare for work, find jobs and live more independently through the ‘Work Choice Programme’, usually working with people who face barriers due to disability, ill health or social circumstance.
Work Choice is a government supported employment programme that enables people to find and retain work by identifying their needs and providing the necessary support to fit their requirements. It is a stepping stone into full unsupported employment for many people.
There are up to three stages to Work Choice
Stage 1: Job-seeking support
This can last for up to six months. You will receive help with personal skills and work-related advice to get you into supported or unsupported work.
Stage 2: In-Work Support
This could last for up to two years. You will receive help (if you feel that you need it) to start work and master your job.
Stage 3: Longer-term In-Work Support
If you require it, you could receive help to progress in your job and where appropriate, move into unsupported work.
Your Job Centre Plus Disability Employment Advisor (DEA) can organize a referral to Shaw trust.
If you would like more information about, or a referral to Work Choices and do not have a DEA, please see the receptionists at blueSCI who will book you an appointment with Sarah Bennett.
