The African and Caribbean Mental Health Team has an office at blueSCI (Old Trafford service). It provides support for African and Caribbean mental health service users within secondary Services.

The Food Guru

 

The Food Guru provides fresh Asian and English food at a reasonable price at blueSCI (Old Trafford service). Every day 10am to 3.30pm.

BeMe Logo

BeME (Community Interest Company) is a Trafford based, organisation providing advisory services on social inclusion. Our slogan is “B- educated Motivated and Employed”.

The organisation is contracted by blueSCI to co-ordinate delivery of the new Primary Care Trust (PCT) Black Minority Ethnic (BME) Community Development Worker (CDW) service. BeME is a Black and Minority Ethnic led organisation working in partnership with other groups.

Trafford College provide General careers guidance: helping clients to make decisions on career options; providing information on courses and training; providing occupational information; advice on funding, childcare and basic skills support.

PLOT is a community group that works together to grow organic produce for the benefit of group members. The group encourage people to learn about organic gardening, relax in an open space, participate in physical activity and socialise by meeting new friends.

Tim Vaughan is a freelance Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner who delivers confidence building courses at blueSCI.

A Credit Union is a not for profit democratically-run financial co-operative. The members actually own and run their Credit Union themselves, offering a convenient way to save, and low interest loans.

Trafford Nextstep offers a free service to eligible clients aged 20+. They provide information and advice on:

  • Jobs and careers
  • Looking for work (including help with CV's, application forms, interview tips)
  • Education and training courses
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Funding learning
  • Brushing up your English and Maths

Smoking Cessation provides advice support and materials for people wanting information about smoking reduction or cessation on a one-to-one basis. A drop in service is available at blueSCI (Old Trafford service) on Tuesdays 10am to 12pm.

THT

Trafford Housing Trust support people with housing issues. They are an independent local housing company set up by the Council. They exist to supply and manage quality affordable homes, and give housing advice and support to people in housing need, primarily within the Trafford area.

They are independent from the Council.

 

Connexions

Connexions provide information and advice for young people aged 13-19. The service also provides support up to the age of 25 for young people who have learning difficulties or disabilities (or both).

 

Having a Voice is a Service User Led organisation based in Manchester. They have devised a Recovery Manual which is used at blueSCI to deliver a 12 week Recovery course.

 

 

St John's Centre offers a variety of training, opportunities and activities for the Old Trafford community.

The Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP) was established in 2005 by the integration of a number of initiatives supporting the development of health and social care services.

Their main objectives are to:

  • develop capacity and capability;
  • support policy implementation; and
  • support the development of policy

This service can help people who use mental health services in Trafford GET THEIR VOICE HEARD!! It helps people exercise and defend their rights and enable them to get their point of view across. Advocacy is about having your voice heard. All enquiries are treated in the strictest confidence. The service is free, impartial and confidential.

The MERIT project is a group of volunteer Mental Health Service Users based in Trafford. They are engaged in research work evaluating and recommending improvements to the Trafford Mental Health Services. They are also seeking to influence strategy and investment for local Mental Health provision and MERIT have written the Trafford service user involvement strategy.
