What's On?

We have a range of activities at the centre, hopefully there is something you are interested in joining. Some of our activities require you to book in advance due to room size, others you can just turn up to. Please call us on 0161 877 3719 or email reception@bluescisupport.org.uk if you want more information about the activities or are anxious about attending. We’ll help you to feel safe and comfortable about joining in.

Monday1:00pm – 3:00pmSound Explorers with Seed Studios – Join Lucy to explore new ways to make sounds together. No musical experience required. Please contact Adam at adam@seedstudios.org for more information.
Tuesday10:00am – 12:00pmArt Groups – Whether you are a beginner, or well-practiced, everyone is welcome to join our diverse and friendly groups who meet in our art studios. Two groups run at the same time – one based around painting and drawing and developing confidence, and the second focused on painting & drawing and acrylic painting on canvas. You are welcome to bring your own materials, or they can be provided for you.
Tuesday1:00pm – 2:30pmMeditation with Theatre of the Senses – Make a journey of self discovery through a quiet session of meditation. Join with your community and develop mindful awareness and compassion by reflecting to help clear the mind. The group is open to new meditators or people who have practiced for some time. Wednesday12:30pm – 1:30pmTalk about… – A peer support session held on alternate Wednesdays. This group aims to provide a safe space to share and connect with other individuals with similar life experiences.

Wednesday1:00pm – 3:00pmKnit and Natter – Join our friendly knitting group in a relaxed environment where you can have a drink, talk with others and knit. Open to everyone regardless of ability, you can learn to knit, get guidance with your current project or help others. If you have your own knitting things please bring them, but we can provide them too if needed.
Thursday10:00am – 12:00pmBME Peer Support Group for women – Join The Trafford BME Mental Health Service for a weekly support group at the centre. Hosted by Pakistani Resource Centre, once a month there will be a guest speaker, and the opportunity every week to connect. Refreshments are provided. Thursday1:30pm – 3:30pmSew Mindful Embroidery Group – Join our workshops to learn a relaxing art of hand embroidery. Perfect for beginners or more experiences stitchers, you can select your own design to bring to life through the magic of thread! It is free to join.

Thursday12:00pm – 3:00pmBike Repair Group– Come along and get your bike fixed up. The group meet in the car park of Old Trafford Wellbeing Centre, you can’t miss them! Thursday10:30am – 12:00pmHearing Voices Group – This group is free open to anyone who hears voices, see visions or have other unusual sensory experiences. It’s friendly and everyone who attends goes out of their way to help people feel at ease. The group welcomes people whether or not they have a diagnosis, and members may also have other issues that they are struggling with (including unusual beliefs, self-harm and bipolar). They are able to offer one to one support before or after the group if members prefer, so they can feel more at ease when they choose to attend the group. Computers and IT support

We have two computers for public use in our reception. We can also print documents for you (at a cost of 10p per page). If you would like to book a computer for a specific day and time, or would like 121 support on using the computer/internet/Microsoft, please contact us at reception@bluesci.org.uk and a member of the team will pick up your request.

Foodbank Vouchers

The Trussell Trust runs a network of over 420 foodbanks, which work out of more than 1,200 centres across the UK and provide emergency food to people during crisis situations such as redundancy, benefit delays or receiving an unexpected bill. We can issue foodbank e-vouchers for parcels containing a minimum of three days’ nutritionally balanced food. We issue foodbank vouchers with appropriate discretion, and can discuss further support available at the centre. Call in during our opening hours to enquire about a voucher being issued if you need one.

Prayer space

If you require a quiet space in which to pray whilst you are at the centre, please let us know by contacting reception so we can accommodate your needs where possible. We also have a prayer rug and copies of some religious books available on request.

Free Period Products

Period Products are available in our toilets and are free for visitors to take thanks to Go With The Flow. Please help yourself (we ask that you complete a questionnaire to help identify where there is need, however you do not have to do this).
